It’s the third week of school already?

4 Feb

Wow. Things are already ramping up already. I had a minor English paper due Monday, and my first test is this Friday in Psychology of Sport.

Yesterday Kit and I made a trip to Half-Price books, and half an hour and $23 later, I walked out with 5 books. 4 of them were Terry Pratchett books (one was even hardcover!) and the last one was The Golden Compass. I’ve wanted to read it for awhile, since it came recommended by a good friend who has excellent taste in literature. I was turned off to the idea at first since the movie was so atrocious.

At the moment, it feels as though I won’t be able to find someone to sublease my apartment.  The girl who came to look at my place this weekend called me a few hours after she came by to let me know that she wanted to look around at other places for a few more weeks and that she’d call me to let me know if she found a place or if she wanted to take mine. Her hesitation was kind of surprising- my 2 bedroom place is a lot cheaper than most 1 bedrooms, and I offered to pay February rent and transfer my deposit. Oh, and she start her new job on Monday the 9th. As confusing as her decision was, I think part of the reason may have been her mother. She was also there looking at the apartment, and seemed to be a little bit controlling and overbearing. So, I’ve reposted my ad on Craigslist and I’m just going to wait to see if anyone contacts me about it. My other option is reletting the place, but I’m not really too keen on that.

I’m officially in as a History/Anthropology major! The advisor in the College of Liberal Arts responsible for placing people in double majors didn’t really even check my stuff. Automatic approval is pretty nice. I’m signed up to mostly take Native American and Texas history classes, but I think I may take History of Sex and Sexuality just for fun. It sounds…intriguing.

I really need to study for that test that’s this Friday, but I think I may go clean up the kitchen instead. I like to have things tidy.
